Iran Press/ Iran News:The eight-member jury of the Palm Springs Film Festival (PSIFF) awarded the "Bridging The Borders Award," previously given to well-known filmmakers such as Andrzej Wajda, to "A Hero" for its cinematic expression of significant human and global issues.
The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) jury also awarded Asghar Farhadi's Iranian Oscar hopeful "A Hero" two prizes for its screenplay and best actor, Amir Jadidi.
PSIFF was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and only the winners were announced.
The story is about a guy named Rahim.
Rahim is in prison because of a debt he was unable to repay. During a two-day leave, he tries to convince his creditor to withdraw his complaint against the payment of part of the sum. But things don't go as planned.
