The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran during a meeting with the Russian President in Moscow stated that there are no restrictions on the development of Iran-Russia relations, and the excellent Tehran-Moscow ties are on the path of strategic relations.

Iran PressEurope: Stating that the maximum interaction with neighboring and allied countries is one of the priorities of Iran's policy Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi said: "Strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iran and Russia will boost the two countries' economies and increase regional and world security."

Noting the fight against terrorism and organized drug trafficking as the pillars of cooperation, the president added: "Successful cooperation in fighting against terrorism in Syria can be used in the Caucasus and Afghanistan."

Stressing that the borders in the Caucasus and the national and geopolitical sovereignty of the region are unchangeable, Raisi said that NATO expansion to the Caucasus and Central Asia, under any pretext, threatens the common interests of independent countries.

He also said that the only way to stability and security in Afghanistan is to form an inclusive government.

"Iran has stood against the United States like Russia for the past 40 years," Iran's president highlighted.

Raisi called the cooperation between Iran and Russia in the fight against terrorism in Syria a successful experience. While emphasizing the preservation of Syria's territorial integrity, he said: "The only way to ensure Syria's security is the sovereignty of Damascus for all its territories."
