Tehran (IP) - The head of Iran's anti-narcotics police announced the discovery of more than 4 tons of various drugs on Iran's borders.

Iran PressIran News: Gen. Karimi, the head of Iran's anti-narcotics police, said that 4 tons and 200 kilograms of narcotics had been discovered in Iran in the past 48 hours, adding: "Seven traffickers were also arrested in this regard."

General Karimi said: "This year, Iranian anti-narcotics officers were able to discover 980 tons of various drugs and arrest more than 180 traffickers."

Despite the sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran had the highest number of drug seizures in the world last year, with the seizure of more than one thousand tons of narcotics.
