Saudi-led coalition attacks on a civilian building in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa killed about 20 people, residents said on Tuesday.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to initial estimates, the strike killed about 20 people. The strikes appeared to be the deadliest since 2019 on Sanaa.

Women and children are among the casualties in Tuesday's multiple airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition on Sanaa's capital.

Al Masirah TV said that attacks had damaged homes, killed at least a dozen people, and injured about a dozen more.

Yemen's National Salvation government deputy foreign minister confirmed the 20 people killed via Twitter.

Saudi coalition said the strikes were in retaliation to the Yemen military attacks on the United Arab Emirates.

According to Al-Masira, Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, on Monday night said that: "The Yemeni storm operation targeted Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports, the Abu Dhabi oil refinery in Al-Masfa, and a number of other important and sensitive sites and facilities in the UAE."
