Tehran (IP) - An Iranian vice president said that Iran, as an independent player in the energy market, could meet the needs of Latin American countries.

Iran PressIran News: Masoud Mirkazemi, Vice President and Head of Iran's Program and Budget Organization, met with Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran Laudemar Goncalves de Aguiar Neto in Tehran on Monday and said: "As an independent energy market player, Iran can meet the needs of Latin American countries, including Brazil, for oil, gas and petrochemical products."

The head of Iran's Program and Budget Organization stated: "Improving economic relations with Latin American countries, including Brazil, is very important for the Iranian government, and Iran is moving towards the balanced development of its economic relations with different countries."

Mirkazemi added: "Considering Iran's imports in oilseeds on the one hand and Brazil's need for energy on the other hand, the two sides can have extensive cooperation."

The Iranian Vice President said: "The life of many oil wells in oil-rich countries has reached over 50 years and some countries have oil only for the next 50 years, But Iran, with a total oil and gas reserves, will be one of the key players in the energy market in the coming years. 

According to the decision of Iran's Cabinet, the responsibility of the Iran-Brazil Joint Cooperation Commission has been entrusted to the Program and Budget Organization.
