Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister says if there is goodwill for an excellent agreement to revive the JCPOA, the deal will be reached in the shortest time.

Iran PressIran news: Hossein Amirabdollahian said that Iran would not wait for the Vienna talks on the Join Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) for the following years.

"The task of the Iranian economic team is to ward off the sanctions; That means we are not going to wait years to end  Vienna talks," Amirabdollahian said.

He stressed that the Iranian team would keep on negotiating with solid logic and that it so far presented many solutions to the other sides of the JCPOA.

"When I was in NY., some people close to the US President were looking for talks. I told them they must convince me that they have changed their mind," Amir-Abdollahian noted.

If you are honest in your words, I told them to release our seized finances abroad ($ 10 billion) to make to return to the JCPOA, Iran's FM explained.

Iran and the five remaining signatories to the 2015 Iran deal have resumed the eighth round of talks in the Austrian capital city of Vienna after the parties took a three-day break for the New Year.

Representatives of Iran and the P4+1 group of countries -- Britain, France, Germany, Russia, and China -- began the eighth round of the Vienna talks on December 27, focusing on removing all sanctions imposed on Tehran after Washington's unilateral withdrawal from the agreement. The US is not allowed to directly attend the talks due to its pullout in 2018 from the landmark deal with Iran.

With the first days of the 7th round of the negotiations, the Western party withdrew from rejecting all of Iran's demands and proposals, thus recognizing the Iranian party's demands, the European side agreed to replace the so-called 'June 20 draft' with a text that included the main demands of Iran.
