Iran Press/ Iran News: Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani, the head of the IRGC elite Quds Force, and the former Deputy Commander of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were martyred along with 8 of their companions in the US strike on Baghdad airport on January 3, 2020.
General Soleimani was in Baghdad on the official invitation of Iraq's Government.
