Nakhchivan (IP) -The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the First Deputy Speaker of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic reviewed the latest state of bilateral relations.

Iran PressAsia: The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ahmad Hosseini, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Azer Zeynalov, met to review the latest state of relations between the two countries and stressed the need to expand cooperation.

In the meeting, while pointing to the measures taken to continue the transfer of natural gas to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, other issues such as transportation and other means of communication between the two sides, cooperation between the heads of parliamentary friendship groups of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, collaboration with East and West Azerbaijan provinces of Iran and Ardabil were also discussed, and it was decided to take the necessary measures to expand bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran pointed out some problems in the activities of Iranian businessmen and traders in the region and called for reaching out to them and addressing their issues.

Scientific and academic cooperation and drug exports to Nakhchivan were also among the issues raised in the meeting.
