Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Energy and Turkmenistan's Deputy Prime Minister for Energy discussed electricity cooperation between the two countries.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation on Friday, Aliakbar Mehrabian and Charymyrat Purchekov reviewed ways to develop electricity exchange, export of Iranian technical and engineering services, and electrical goods to Turkmenistan, as well as the development of power grid connections between the two countries.

Mehrabian and Purchekov stressed the need to implement agreements reached by the two countries' presidents during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tajikistan, as well as Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit in Turkmenistan.

They expressed hope that during the future face-to-face meetings with each other, they would finalize the very decisions and prepare the grounds for their implementation.

In a telephone conversation in December, the Presidents of Iran and Turkmenistan emphasized strengthening border cooperation and facilitating trade, stressing the promotion of economic and trade cooperation to increase the level of relations between the two countries.

Iran's President Raisi said that in the field of gas cooperation and executing the Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan gas sway through Iran, good cooperation was done.

A trilateral gas swap agreement from Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan through Iran's soil was signed in late November at the meeting of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan Presidents by two countries' oil ministers.
