Tehran (IP) - Iran's Interior Minister discussed the country's metropolitan problems in various areas and measures to contain the Omicron variant in meeting officials and mayors of the country.

Iran PressIran news: In the meeting held on Tuesday afternoon, Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said the problems of metropolitan cities were heard from the officials, some of which were related to laws. 

Problems of revenue sources, transportation, clean air, environment, and human resources were raised in this meeting. 

Ahmad Vahidi emphasized that due to the importance of municipalities in providing services and creating a calm environment for the people, the necessary decisions were made, and some follow-ups with some organizations are required. 

Also referring to the emergence of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus in the country, the Minister of Interior said: "The necessary restrictions have been established for this issue, and traveling abroad is not possible for two weeks, except in special cases." 

He emphasized running the injection of the booster shot vaccine and observing the defined health protocols.
