Istanbul (IP) - The 16th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states started in Istanbul, Turkey.

Iran PressAsia: In the presence of the Speakers of the Parliaments and diplomatic missions of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States, the sixteenth session of the PUIC began at Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul.

The Supreme Parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Iran's Parliament include Sara Fallahi, Ebrahim Rezaei and Abolfazl Amoui, members of Iran's Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission as well as Adel Najafzadeh, Chairman of the Iran-Turkey Parliamentary Friendship Group. Ghalibaf is scheduled to deliver a speech at the conference this evening.

On the first day of his visit to Istanbul on Thursday, Ghalibaf met with a large number of Iranian economic activists and businessmen active in Turkey, as well as a group of investors and CEOs of large Turkish holding companies operating in Iran to be briefed about the problems of these economic actors in person.

In these two important economic sessions, Ghalibaf emphasized that in the government and the Parliament, the priority is to develop relations with neighbours and Islamic countries, and this is a serious and strong will, and based on this, Iran is determined to prioritize bilateral trading.
