Tehran(IP): Iran's Parliament speaker called the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States( PUIC) an opportunity to improve parliamentary diplomacy.

Iran PressIran news: Before leaving Tehran for Istanbul, at Mehrabad Airport, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that this 2-day -trip is a good chance for bilateral talks between Iran and Turkey parliaments.

Regarding Iran's priority in diplomacy as expanding relations with neighboring and Islamic countries, Parliament's speaker stated that this conference could boost these relations.

"Palestine and Afghanistan are among the important and serious issues of the region which will be discussed with parliament speakers of the Muslim countries," pointed Ghalibaf.

Qalibaf stressed that Iran-Turkey inclusive cooperation document is passing through the final stages, and the event would pave the way for more talks in this regard.

Ghalibaf noted that he is scheduled to meet Turkish and Iranian businesspeople in Turkey on this 2- day- trip.

"Today, we need parliamentary diplomacy among Islamic countries to create peace and security in the region, and PUIC can make the chance for this very goal, Parliament's speaker concluded.

The 16th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)  ( PUIC) Conference with the central theme of "Palestine, Immigration and Afghanistan" will be held on December 9 - 10, 2021, in Istanbul, to be hosted by the Turkish Parliament.
