Tehran (IP) - The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) emphasized providing financial resources for implementing the permanent law to support the disabled.

Iran Press/Iran news: On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, said on Sunday: "Iranian rehabilitated people have shown that disability is not the reason for their backwardness in work. The authorities also have to consider the necessary measures and the provision of resources to implement the permanent law for supporting the disabled."

Ghalibaf appreciated the families of the disabled, including fathers, mothers, and family members who nursed and helped their loved ones with endurance.

The parliament speaker also stressed that Iranian disabled people compensated for their disabilities in other ways through constant hope and efforts.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities has been honored annually since December 3, 1992, by the United Nations General Assembly.
