Tehran (IP)- Referring to the high capacity of Tehran and Caracas, Iran's President, in a telephone conversation with his Venezuelan counterpart, said: "Development of relations between Tehran and Caracas is a necessity, especially in trade and economic issues."

Iran PressIran news: Emphasizing the struggle of the Venezuelan people and government against imperialism, Iran's president, Ebrahim Raisi, said: "The domination system and the United States imposed  sanctions on the Venezuelan people and government because they have chosen the independence and freedom."

Referring to the position of Iran and Venezuela in OPEC, Raisi said: "Oil cooperation between the two countries must take a new form and we need to take greater steps in refining and supplying petrochemical resources."

"Despite the threats imposed on us by imperialism, we have been able to defend internal peace through the efforts of our people," said Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

Referring to the Iran-Venezuela partnership in OPEC, Maduro said: "OPEC must achieve lasting stability."

"There is a lot of joint work between Iran and Venezuela, and I am very optimistic that with the help of joint commissions we can conclude new agreements," the Venezuelan president said.
