Foreign Ministry spokesman has rejected as baseless Bahraini officials’ claims to have discovered a shipment of weapons originating in Iran.

Iran PressIran News: Saeed Khatibzadeh, reacting on Wednesday to the declaration issued by the Bahrain Interior Ministry, rejected claims by Manama officials that they had arrested a gang with links to groups in Iran.

“Such hollow and baseless claims by Bahraini officials simultaneously with Manama Conference, which was turned into a tribune against Iran, shows Bahrain’s lack of comprehension about the regional issues,” reiterated the foreign ministry spokesman.

Khatibzadeh added that Bahrain has preferred its relations with the illegitimate Zionist regime to have good ties with its own people and resists yielding to their righteous civil demands.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that Bahrain cannot by such phony accusation conceal its internal and international problems.

In related news, Tavakkol Habizadeh, the head of the Legal and International Center of the President’s Office had announced that the International Court of Justice has rejected Bahrain’s defense on politically motivated and illegal confiscation of the shares of Melli Bank of Iran and Saderat Bank of Iran, considered its breaching of bilateral covenants, and sentenced that government to pay over 200 million euros fine to those two banks.

OIC potential huge for realization of Islamic unity

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has enormous potential to achieve the unity of the Islamic Ummah and the pure and sublime principles and values of Islam.

Saeed Khatibzadeh added: "We hope that in the term of the new Secretary General, we will see a significant increase in these efforts and its tangible fruit in ensuring the common interests of the Islamic Ummah and member states in the field of international interaction.

He added: "Our country congratulates the beginning of the term of the new Secretary General of this organization Hussein Ibrahim Taha and wishes him success in his new responsibility."

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "The new Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has announced his readiness to strengthen cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in separate messages to President Raisi and Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir- Abdollahian.

Khatibzadeh said: "While appreciating the efforts of the former Secretary General of Ahmad bin Al-Uthaymeen to promote and strengthen the unity and solidarity of member states, we are fully prepared for the new Secretary General based on the principle of guaranteeing equal opportunities for full and free participation and contribution of all members within the framework of the OIC's charter, we should have close and fraternal cooperation with the secretary general of this organization.

He said: "Considering that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has great potential to achieve the unity of the Islamic Ummah and the pure and sublime principles and values ​​of Islam, we hope to see a significant increase in these efforts and its tangible fruit in securing the common interests of the Islamic Ummah and member states of the organization in the field of international interaction.

Khatibzadeh added: "On the issue of Palestine and countering the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime in confiscating Palestinian property and assets, it is necessary to use the capacities of this organization in order to confront the unfortunate current called" normalization "and to drive the Zionist regime in to the corner by taking action against this regime by strengthening the unity and harmony among the member states of the organization as much as possible.
