Tehran (IP) - The book "I Begin with You", a selection of contemporary Iranian poetry, was unveiled at the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) in Tehran.

Iran PressIran News: According to Iran Press News Agency, the book "I Begin with You" has been published to introduce contemporary Iranian poets.

The ceremony was held on Thursday evening in the presence of the officials of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) and some Iranian cultural officials. It was broadcast live on Iranian Farhang (Culture) Radio.

In this ceremony, Professor Sarvar Bakhti, President of ECO Cultural Institute, Ashraf Boroujerdi, Head of the National Library and Archives of Iran, Fatemeh Rakaei, poet, researcher, and managing director of the Iranian Poets Association, Alireza Ghazveh, poet and researcher, and managing director of the Institute of Persian Language Poets, Saeedeh Hosseinjani, director of the translation center of the art center of the Islamic Advertisement Organization; Susan Poursanati, professor of Allameh Tabatabai University, and Alireza Habibi, director of Farhang Radio, explained the position of Persian literature and the importance of translation in world of literature.

In another part of the ceremony, several poets recited their poems.

The book "I Begin with You" (a selection of contemporary Iranian poetry) was compiled and translated into English by Nastaran Nosratzadegan, a translator and university professor, and published by the ECO Cultural Institute.

The book "I Begin with You" introduces 50 prominent contemporary poets from Nima Yoshij, the father of modern Persian poetry, and one or more poems from their works have been translated into English.

In this ceremony, a photo exhibition of 50 contemporary poets and biographies and a brief history of their works was opened at the Diplomatic Gallery of the Eco-Cultural Institute in Tehran.
