Tehran (IP) - The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran (SNSC) said that the terror attempt on the Iraqi prime minister is new sedition that must be traced back to foreign think tanks.

Iran PressIran news: Ali Shamkhani, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, tweeted on Sunday: "The attempt for Al-Kazemi's terror is a new sedition that must be traced back to foreign think tanks, which have brought nothing but insecurity, discord and instability to oppressed Iraqi people through creation & support of terrorist groups & occupation of this country for years.

The Iraqi security media group said in a statement on Sunday morning that the assassination attempt on al-Kadhimi had failed when a drone bomb struck his residence in Baghdad's Green Zone.

"I am fine, I am among the people and I call on everyone to remain calm and restrained," the Iraqi prime minister tweeted.
