Baghdad (IP) - Iran's ambassador to Baghdad, Iraj Masjedi, tweeted: "Iranians and Iraqis from today, and in compliance with health protocols, can have air travel to Iraq and Iran without a visa."

Iran PressIran news: During a visit to Tehran by Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi in September 2021, Kazemi and Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi agreed to ease visa restrictions for the citizens of the two countries.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, Iraq constituted Iran's largest source of tourists. In return, hundreds of thousands of Iranian pilgrims head for the holy Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala each year.
