The UN Security Council, in support of the Saudi coalition, called for an immediate ceasefire throughout Yemen.

Iran PressAmerica: Members of the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday night issued a statement calling for an immediate ceasefire across Yemen in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2565 to prevent the Yemeni army and popular committees from gaining control of Marib.

The statement stressed the need to stop the clashes, including the immediate end of the advance of Yemeni forces in Marib province who are ousting the Saudi invaders.

"The members of the Security Council expressed grave concern for the dire humanitarian situation, including prolonged starvation and the growing risk of large-scale famine," the UN Security Council said.

The war in Yemen has plunged the poorest country on the Arabian Peninsula into the world's worst humanitarian crisis, according to the UN, pushing the population to the brink of starvation.

Tens of thousands of people, mostly civilians, have been killed and millions displaced since the conflict began. 219
