Iran Press/ Iran news: Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of Iran's Navy, said: "The Alborz destroyer was escorting two tankers today (Saturday) in the area of the Gulf of Aden, and five pirate boats were trying to approach the tankers."
The commander of the navy added: "The navy of the army, using the commando teams, succeeded in directing the boats to a farther area by carrying out operations and firing."
Shahram Irani said: "Due to the performance of the Iranian Navy today, all vessels passing through the region, whether domestic or regional and trans-regional vessels are in complete safety."
The commander of the navy emphasized: "We will deal seriously with any threat that wants to strain the transportation axis."
