Iran, Armenia emphasize strengthening relations

Yerevan (IP) - The Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Yerevan, while assessing the latest developments in the region, emphasized strengthening the existing relations and bringing them to the highest possible level.

Iran PressAsia: On Monday, Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia, met with Abbas Badakhshan-Zohuri, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Yerevan, to review the latest developments in the region and Tehran's relations with Yerevan.

The Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia and the Ambassador of Iran in Yerevan reviewed the prospects of cooperation to solve new challenges in the region and economic relations between Armenia and Iran, especially the development of Syunik province, and stressed the importance of Chabahar port in Iran.

During the meeting, the Iranian ambassador to Yerevan stressed that Tehran is trying to strengthen its relations with the friendly country of Armenia at the highest level.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, also said yesterday (Monday) in a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart in Tehran, Ararat Mirzoyan: "The relations between Iran and Armenia are constructive and growing."
