Tehran (IP) - The chairman of the Parliament Industry and Mining Committee said the attaches who will be used to facilitate Iran's economic diplomacy should not be government employees.

Iran PressIran news: In an interview with Iran Press on Saturday, Ezatollah Akbari Talarposhti said on the sidelines of the opening of Dubai International Expo 2020: "In choosing economic attaches for Iranian embassies in different countries, it should be considered that the economic attaches should not be a salaried employee of the Iranian government."

Akbari Talarposhti said: "Of course, the selection of economic attaches is up to the Ministry of Mine, Trade, and Industry, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the parliament emphasizes on the selection of these people from among economic and private sector activists."

He further said: "In the field of economic diplomacy, the government should not be in charge and interfere, and the government's duty is to guide and supervise the private sector."
