Tehran (IP) – The 33rd International Congress on Pediatrics, which is due to be held in Iran, will review why children at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak had zero infection, but recently, especially in the fifth wave, they have been severely affected.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking during the pre-meeting on the 33rd International Congress on Pediatrics, the head of Iran's Pediatrics Center of Excellence highlighted that the purpose of holding the conference annually is to review common diseases among children, latest scientific and medical news.

Reza Shervin Badv urged the vaccination of people under 18, observance of health protocols in schools, common and general topics in nursing, developments, and achievements which would also be discussed in the congress. 

Badv stated that the other essential purpose is to review why children at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak had zero infection, but recently, especially in the COVID fifth wave, they have been severely affected.

"Also, reviewing strategies on how to boost and strengthen children's health and quality of life is the other purpose of holding the conference in the coming days," he noted. 

"The audience of the conference are professors from medical universities in Iran and abroad," he added.

The 33rd International Congress on Pediatrics will be held on October 21st-24th and 28th-29th consecutively (from 8 am to 5:30 pm every day in two halls of the Pediatric Medical Center Hospital, via videoconferencing and in compliance with all hygienic protocols.)
