Abuja (IP)- Nigerian police fired shots and tear gas on the Muslim people who attended Arbaeen Trek in different parts of the country.

Iran PressAfrica: According to Iran Press News Agency, Nigerian Muslims took part in a symbolic Arbaeen march on Tuesday across the country, including Abuja's capital city.

Nigerian police fired shot and tear gas in some parts of Abuja, killing one person, IranPress correspondent reported.

Nigerian police also detained several people who were attended Arbaeen Trek. 

Each year, millions of Muslim mourners set out on a symbolic 80-kilometer-long walk that begins from the holy city of Najaf in Iraq, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein's father, Imam Ali (AS), is located, to the sacred city of Karbala that houses the sacred shrine of Imam Hussein (AS).
