Iran's Interior Minister said on Monday said that Iran and Turkey are two key regional powers that can play a significant role in the establishment of peace and stability in the region.

Iran PressIran News: Ahmad Vahidi made the comments during a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Suleyman Soylu.

Vahidi underlined the shared responsibility of Iran and Turkey to foster self-developed security in the region, IRNA reported.  

Iran's Interior Minister referred to President Ebrahim Raisi’s resolve to enhance relations with neighboring countries, and said, “We see this policy not only as a geographical determinism but also as a deeply cultural and intellectual necessity between the two countries.”

The Turkish minister, for his part, called for further cooperation between the interior ministries of Iran and Turkey.

He expressed hope that relations between the two countries to enhance more than ever.
