Tehran (IP) - Minister of Science, Research and Technology stated that science diplomacy is an opportunity to promote the Islamic Republic of Iran's soft power.

Iran PressIran News: Mohammad-Ali Zolfigol, in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of the 'Twelfth national symposium of Int'l deputies on new horizon move,' underlined: "We believe that if scientific diplomacy can contribute to country's political, cultural, and social diplomacy, the world's view will change completely about Iran because Iranians have always been forerunners in science and technology."

Scientific diplomacy should be such that PhD students attend scientifically famous universities worldwide and then transfer those learned experiences to the country, added Zolfigol.

Emphasizing the role of students in scientific diplomacy at both national and international levels, Mohammad-Ali Zolfigol pointed out: "We should also use the experiences of countries around the world, especially neighboring countries, to develop Iran."

The twelfth national (virtual) symposium of international deputies and directors of universities, higher education, research, and technology centers was held in the presence of the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Mohammad Ali Zolfigol, university presidents, and deputies, and international directors of 250 higher education institutions via videoconferencing on Sunday, at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
