Iran Press/America: According to a new Gallup poll released Wednesday, President Joe Biden's popularity has dropped to 43% after eight months in office, the lowest level ever.
These findings are from a Sept. 1-17 Gallup poll that was conducted after the U.S. military evacuated more than 120,000 people from Afghanistan. The United States' exit from the nation's longest war was marred by the Taliban's quick takeover of most of the country and a suicide bombing at the airport in Kabul, which killed 13 U.S. service members. Over the same period, COVID-19 infection rates, nationally, were surging, leading to hospital overflows in some regions.
The poll found that Biden was criticized by two parties for his handling of the evacuation of Americans and Afghans from Afghanistan, especially after an ISIS suicide bombing at Kabul airport that killed 13 American soldiers and at least 169 Afghan civilians.
The Rasmussen poll also found that 70 percent of Americans consider leaving Afghanistan a "national humiliation."
The poll indicates leaving Afghanistan was a national humiliation, and that Biden had left thousands of Americans in Afghanistan alone to defend themselves. 219
