The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran arrived in New York at noon on Monday (local time) to attend the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

Iran Press/America: Upon arrival in New York, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was welcomed by Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations.

Reza Najafi, Deputy Foreign Minister in Legal and International affairs, Saeed Khatibzadeh, Spokesman of Foreign Minister and Ishaq Al Habib, Director General of Iranian Foreign Minister's office, accompanied Amirabdolahian.

The Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh also said that 45 bilateral meetings with foreign ministers from different countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America, as well as heads of international organizations, Secretary-General, President of Security Council, and many others have been planned for Amirabdollahian.

Amirabdollahian will also hold meetings with US-based journalists and researchers.

The 76th session of the UN General Assembly began on Tuesday (September 14th). The UN General Assembly will also meet for a week from September 21.
