Dushanbe (IP) – Underlining that the government in Afghanistan must be inclusive, the Iranian president said that foreign interference has caused countless disasters in the Asian country.

Iran PressAsia: After meeting with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe on Saturday morning, Ebrahim Raisi said at a joint press conference: "Fortunately, our views on Afghanistan are close, and we both believe that foreign interference has caused countless disasters in this country, and the hands of foreigners must be cut off. Foreigners have never been able to provide security, and we do not accept the continued presence and role of foreigners."

"The issue of Afghanistan must be resolved by the Afghans in cooperation with neighboring and regional countries. Our cooperation with Tajikistan and Afghanistan's neighbors can pave the way for Afghans to decide their own destiny," he noted.

He underlined that the government in Afghanistan must be inclusive, and a government of one ethnic and political group could not solve the problems.

Reiterating that terrorists' presence in Afghanistan is dangerous for this country and the region, Raisi stated that the Americans, who formed ISIS, moved the terror group to Afghanistan after committing evil crimes in Iraq and Syria.

"The presence of ISIS is dangerous not only in Afghanistan but also for the region," he said, adding that any terrorist presence in Afghanistan must be eliminated.

"We oppose the presence of any current that is the basis for the growth of terrorist movements in Afghanistan and we believe that it must be dealt with decisively," he added.

He pointed out that the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region was security-building, but the presence of foreigners was destructive to security.
