Tehran (IP)- Iranian President travels to Dushanbe on Thursday at the invitation of Tajik President to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

Iran PressIran news: Ebrahim Raisi will meet with the leaders and heads of delegations attending the SCO summit on the sidelines of the meeting.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was established in 2001 to combat terrorism and extremism, increasing economic cooperation.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has been one of its observer members.

The Tajikistan Foreign Ministry announced that the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has officially invited Ebrahim Raisi to visit Tajikistan on September 16.

The statement also adds that the two presidents are going to sign a joint declaration on boosting relations.

Iran, Tajikistan share a common culture, language, and history.
