Iraq committed to defend Palestinian cause: Iraqi President

Iraqi President Barham Salih said that Iraq was committed to defend the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people.

Iran Press/Middle East: Emphasizing that peace in the region is not possible without achieving the full and legal rights of the Palestinian people, Iraqi President Barham Salih said on Monday that Iraq was committed to defend the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Iraqi president denied any connection between Baghdad and the Israeli regime, saying that the issue of normalization with Israel had never been of interest to Iraq.

In another part of his speech, the Iraqi president called the upcoming elections in Iraq an opportunity for Iraqis, adding that the alternative to elections would be chaos.

The Iraqi president said that the elections must be transparent and express the free will of the nation in order to create a powerful government that reflects the will of the Iraqi people.
