Iran seriously pursues expansion of comprehensive ties with China

Vienna (IP) - The Chairman of the Inter-parliamentary Union (IPU) of Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) says Iran has a serious will to expand comprehensive ties with China.

Iran PressEurope: Meeting with the Deputy Head of Chain's National People's Congress Foreign Affairs Committee, Ahmad Naderi stressed that the expansion of the ties should be an immediate priority of the two countries' government agencies. 

Naderi said: "Iran views cooperation with China from a long-term and strategic perspective at the highest levels based on the participation of the strategic community of the two countries."

Iran-China relations were of strategic importance independently. The Iranian lawmaker added that the relations between the two countries were not and would not be dependent on or affected by relations with other countries and international conditions.

The Deputy Head of Chain's National People's Congress Foreign Affairs Committee Chen Guomin, for his part, said Iran and China were economic, political, and cultural strategic partners. 

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the IPU meeting in Vienna.
