Catalysts production saves Iran $70 m

Tehran (IP) - Domestic specialists succeeded in a local production of ethylbenzene dehydrogenation to styrene and ammonia synthesis catalysts in Iran, bringing a total hard currency savings of 70 million dollars for the country.

Iran PressIran news: For the first time, an Iranian company has succeeded in producing one ton of ethylbenzene to styrene dehydrogenation catalyst and three tons of ammonia synthesis catalyst, said the company.

Ethylbenzene to styrene dehydrogenation catalyst is used in Pars and Tabriz petrochemical plants, and ammonia synthesis catalyst is used in urea and ammonia producers such as Razi, Pardis, Khorasan, Hengam, Lordegan, Kermanshah and Masjed Soleiman petrochemical plants.

Production of ethylbenzene dehydrogenation catalyst to styrene will save $20 million, and the ammonia synthesis catalyst saves the country $50 million, and there is no need to import these catalysts.
