Tehran (IP) - The Foreign Ministers of Iran and Russia consulted over the bilateral ties as well as the regional and international developments.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Thursday, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian talked about issues such as bilateral ties, meeting of the two countries' officials on the sidelines of the Shanghai Summit, strengthening of cooperation in containing corona pandemic, problems of traders and economic actors for normal travel to Russia, regional developments and initiatives related to Afghanistan, and issues related to Iran's Nuclear Agreement 2015, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Concerning the coronavirus issue, Amir-Abdollahian stressed more export of the Russian vaccine Sputnik based on the previous agreements and appreciated the country's cooperation in facilitating the return of the Iranian students studying in Russia to their country.  As with Afghanistan's issue in the region also the Iranian and Russian foreign ministers stressed the establishment of an inclusive government participated by all ethnic groups in the country.

Sergei Lavrov, for his part, pointed to the Vienna talks and the JCPOA and said: " Russia, like Iran, does not accept any change in the JCPOA and calls for the full implementation of the nuclear deal."
