IAEA inspections beyond safeguards stopped: AEOI spox

Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said the inspections of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which was beyond the safeguards, were stopped.

Iran PressIran news: Behrouz Kamalvandi told Young Journalist Club (YJC) the meta-safeguards inspections were stopped due to the enforcement of a law adopted by the Parliament to neutralize the sanctions imposed on the country and protect the Iranian people's interests.

Kamalvandi added: "Therefore, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) no longer has a declaration, access and protocol inspection, but the safeguards inspections that are being carried out in all countries are being also carried out in Iran according to the normal routine."

The Wall Street Journal claimed on Tuesday that according to a classified report, Iran opposes the International Atomic Energy Agency's inspections to the extent that the IAEA's activities in Iran have been severely weakened compared to any other period in the last six years.
