In a message, the Iranian President offered condolences on the demise of the head of Supreme Islamic Shia Council of Lebanon, Ayatollah Sheikh Abdol-Amir Qabalan.

Iran PressIran news: The Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi offered his condolences to Ayatollah Sheikh Abdol-Amir Qabalan's family, friends, the Supreme Islamic Shia Council, and Lebanon's Shia community. 

Raisi added that Sheikh Qabalan followed in the footsteps of Imam Musa Sadr in helping the deprived and oppressed people while striving for moderation, coexistence among the followers of different religions in line with the goal of achieving unity and solidarity among the Lebanese people, as well as in the Islamic world.

Iran's President further described the ayatollah Sheikh Abdol-Amir Qabalan as a valuable and loyal friend to the Resistance and Nasrallah himself.

Sheikh Qabalan was a staunch supporter of the resistance movement in Lebanon, as well as an opponent of normalizing relations with the Zionist regime.

Sheikh Qabalan passed away on Saturday night in Lebanon at 85 after a long struggle with illness. 219
