The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amirabdollahian, and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, spoke by telephone on Saturday night about the latest developments in Afghanistan.

Iran PressIran news: In this telephone call, it was agreed that the meeting of Afghanistan's neighbors at the level of special representatives as well as foreign ministers will be held virtually in the next few days.

In recent days, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran has discussed the situation in Afghanistan with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. 

Earlier, Iranian and Chinese Foreign Ministers stressed the need for establishing an inclusive government with the participation of all ethnic groups in Afghanistan.

Both sides also considered the fight against terrorism and narcotics as an important priority. They also emphasized uninterrupted humanitarian aid and efforts to open border crossings.

The Iranian Foreign Minister and his Pakistani counterpart also stressed that the United States is responsible for the current situation in Afghanistan and that its role over the past two decades towards the Afghan people has been unconstructive.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the influential countries in the region and the world, has always sought to resolve regional crises, including the crisis in Afghanistan, through dialogue and politics.

The officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran have always stated that the focus of Iran's efforts in Afghanistan is to create stability and security by the Afghans themselves inside the country, and Tehran will spare no effort in this regard. 219
