The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, hold a phone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart on Tuesday night and called for a peaceful settlement of disputes in the Caucasus region.

Iran PressIran news: In this conversation, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Amirabdollahian for his gaining of confidence vote and beginning of service as the foreign minister of Iran.

He emphasized the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in all dimensions and called for evermore participation of Iran in the reconstruction of the liberated areas, as well as cooperation in the field of transit.

He also presented a report on the recent developments in the Caucasus region.

Amirabdollahian voiced Iran’s readiness for the improvement of comprehensive relations with Azerbaijan.

Iran is also ready for partnership in the reconstruction of the liberated parts of  Azerbaijan,” added the Iranian foreign minister.

He meanwhile stressed the necessity of respecting the international borders and asked for resolving the disputes in the Caucasus region peacefully and through diplomatic channels.

The foreign ministers of the two countries meanwhile invited each other to visit the other country at their earliest possible opportunity and expressed hope to meet each other soon. 219
