Iran scores highest daily COVID death toll: 684 in 24 hrs

Tehran (IP) – Iran's Health Ministry announced on Sunday that COVID-19 had taken 684 lives during the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 102,038.

Iran PressIran News: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to August 22, 2021, 4,677,114 people in the country have contracted COVID-19, and 3,938,472 of the total infected people recovered.

Newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were 36,419 cases, out of whom 5,007 patients were hospitalized.

7,662 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care units (ICU).

So far, 27,855,470 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across Iran.

According to the latest analysis, 359 cities are red, 59 are orange, and 30 are yellow zones.

So far, 16,717,681 people have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine, 5,830,650 people have received the second dose, and the total number of vaccines injected in the country reached 22,007,514 doses.
