Iranian director receives American Film Festival's Award of Excellence

Navid Nikkhah Azad, director of The Recess, received the Award of Excellence in the short film category at the 12th IndieFEST Film Awards in the United States.

Iran PressAmerica: The Recess has participated in various festivals, including the Izmir International Short Film Festival and the Festival de Cine Chileno de Quilpué. The film has so far won Best Actor at the 33rd Living Skies Student Film Festival in Canada, Best Short Story at the 18th Annual Oxford Film Fest, Best Feature Film at the 24th The Johns Hopkins Film Festival in the United States, and the Best Short Drama story in the 15th San Francisco International Frozen Festival.

Established in 2008, The IndieFEST Film Awards is an avant-garde worldwide competition that strives to give talented directors, producers, actors, creative teams, and new media creators the positive exposure they deserve. It discovers and honors the achievements of filmmakers who produce high-quality films and new media.

The IndieFEST promotes award winners through press releases to over 40,000 filmmakers, industry contacts, and five additional global media/distribution outlets.
