Hamas: Hostile behavior of Israel, real cause of tension in region

Hamas reacted to the recent Israeli aggression on Syria, calling it the real cause of tensions in the region.

Iran Press/ Middle East: Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasim said that the hostile behavior of the occupying Israeli regime, of which the recent attack on Syria was one example, is the real cause of tension in the region.

According to Maa, Qasim went on to call for a real confrontation with the Israeli regime's aggressive behavior and to prevent its aggression.

In the last hours of last night (Thursday night), news sources reported that the Syrian air defense was confronting hostile targets in the skies of Damascus, and the Israeli regime's media reported that the regime had fired missiles at targets on the outskirts of Damascus.

The Syrian Defense Ministry said in a statement after the attack: "At around 23:03 tonight, the Israeli enemy launched a rocket attack from the southeastern source of Beirut, targeting areas near the city of Damascus and near Homs."

In this regard, Lebanese Defense Minister and Acting Foreign Minister Zeina Akar condemned the repeated violations of Lebanese airspace by Israeli regime fighters in order to attack Syria.

The official stressed that these actions are a clear violation of international resolutions, especially Resolution 1701 (issued to end the 33-day war in 2006), a threat to security and stability in Lebanon, and a violation of its sovereignty.

"Lebanon has lodged a complaint against the Israeli regime's actions through its ambassador and representative to the United Nations, Amal al-Madli," Aakr said.

Also, Lebanese Director General of Public Security Abbas Ibrahim recently met with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Duma Committee on International Affairs to discuss the Israeli regime's repeated violations of its airspace.
