The US President Joe Biden spoke with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Tuesday on the situation in Afghanistan and they agreed to hold a virtual G7 leaders’ meeting next week to discuss a common strategy

Iran PressAmerica: The White House announced the U.S. and British leaders agreed to hold a virtual Group of Seven (G-7) leaders’ meeting next week “to discuss a common strategy and approach.”

The leaders "discussed the need for continued close co-ordination among allies and democratic partners on Afghanistan policy going forward, including ways the global community can provide further humanitarian assistance and support for refugees and other vulnerable Afghans", the White House said in a statement.

US National security adviser Jake Sullivan said earlier on Tuesday that Biden had not yet spoken to other world leaders. The president has been at Camp David since Friday and briefly returned to the White House to deliver remarks on Afghanistan on Monday.

Mohammad Ashraf Ghani had left Afghanistan at the same time as the Taliban ordered the group to enter Kabul, the capital of the country.

Many Afghan officials and people attribute the current situation in Afghanistan to the failed US policies in Afghanistan.

During its 20 years of failed military presence in Afghanistan, the United States has been incapable of containing the Taliban and has produced nothing but the spread of terrorism, war, violence, instability, and the killing of tens of thousands of people. 219
