Iran Press/ Iran news: "The United States failed in Afghanistan and betrayed the Afghan people by disarming the Afghan army and making an arbitrary agreement with the Taliban," Fada Hossein Maleki, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament said on Tuesday.
Regarding the order of US President Joe Biden to hastily withdraw US troops from Afghanistan, he said: "The end of any occupation is a betrayal or a defeat that happened to the United States after 20 years of occupation."
Rejecting US claims about spending money on the Afghan army, he added that the $ 88 billion that the United States claimed to spend on the Afghan army was the cost of keeping the US military in Afghanistan, while the Afghan military was fighting with low salaries.
