US imposes new sanctions against Islamic Resistance groups

The US State Department has announced new sanctions against Hezbollah in Lebanon, Kata'ib Hezbollah, and Asaeb Ahl al-Haq, following the defense of Lebanese Hezbollah against Israeli aggression.

Iran PressAmerica: The US State Department on Monday allegedly announced the punitive measures against Lebanese Hezbollah, Iraqi resistance groups, two Syrian companies, and several Russian companies to be published in the US Federal Register.

Although the State Department said the sanctions were imposed on July 29 against the aforementioned groups, the US government has not previously shared it with the press and the media.

The text of the sanctions is scheduled to be published in the Federal Register or the official publication of the United States Federal Administration on Tuesday, August 10.

The State Department has indicated that the measures will remain in place for two years from the time the directive enters into force unless the Secretary of State decides otherwise.

The Biden Administration has twice before attacked Iraqi resistance positions.
