4 magnitude earthquake jolts Caspian Sea

Tehran (IP): A 4-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale shook parts of the Caspian Sea.

Iran PressIran news: On Monday, the National Seismological Center affiliated to the Institute of Geophysics, University of Tehran, the earthquake occurred today (August 18, 2021) at 5:18:42  am local time in latitude 39.81 and longitude 49.95.

The quake struck at a depth of 8 km, and no casualties or damage have been reported so far.

According to the report, the earthquake occurred in 145 km of Bilesvar (Ardabil), 164 km of Jafarabad (Ardabil), and 167 km of Tazeh Kand (Ardabil).
