Tehran (IP) - The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced the country's public vaccination against COVID-19 as his administration's priority.

Iran PressIran news: While receiving the first dose of the Iran-made coronavirus vaccine dubbed as "COVIran Barekat" on Sunday, Ebrahim Raisi appreciated the medical staff's efforts to protect people's lives and stressed the public vaccination of people against the coronavirus disease as a priority of his administration to immunize them against the new mutations.

Stressing the acceleration of the vaccination process, Raisi added: "We use the homemade vaccine to the extent it was available, and as far as we face vaccine shortage, verified vaccines must be imported."  

Expressing concern over the surge of COVID-19 disease in the country, he urged people to observe the health protocols.
