Tehran (IP) - Iran's President Raisi says his government will take steps to lift tyrannical sanctions imposed on Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's new President Ebrahim Raisi delivered a speech on Tuesday after receiving the presidential mandate from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

"People's trust in the government is above all else, and it is our duty to restore that trust," he said.

"Democracy has risen in Iran for more than 40 years," said Raisi at the endorsement ceremony of his presidency.

"A new model of governance has been introduced to the world," he added.

The President emphasized: "The officials have been working to realize religious democracy during these 40 years, and we progressed when the Imam's instructions and leadership, and policies were taken into consideration."

Emphasizing that the Presidential Election was a manifestation of religious democracy, Raisi stated: "In this election, the people, in spite of all hostilities of enemies and problems including coronavirus, voted and created a great epic; an epic that disappointed enemies and gave hope to friends."

He said: "The message of the elections was change and justice, and the fight against corruption, poverty, discrimination and the request to solve the economic, social and cultural problems of society and change the status quo."
