Ireland (IP) - The head of the Iran-Ireland Parliamentary Friendship Group said there was good potential to develop and strengthen economic relations between the two countries.

Iran PressIran news: Referring to the long-standing and friendly relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Ireland, in a virtual meeting with Cathal Crowe, the Head of the Iran-Ireland Parliamentary Friendship Group in Irish Parliament, Eqbal Shakeri said: "Friendship between the two countries has a long history which is a strong support to strengthen relations in various political, economic and cultural fields."

Emphasizing the role of parliaments and parliamentary friendship groups in strengthening friendly relations and accelerating cooperation between the two countries, Shakeri added: "Holding virtual parliamentary meetings to resolve existing issues and remove possible obstacles to strengthen political and economic relations is vital."

There are good capacities to develop and strengthen economic relations between Iran and Ireland, he added.
