Iran Press/ America: US president Joe Biden has set out a more precise timeline for American forces to formally withdraw from Iraq.
"The US role in Iraq will be to help train Iraqi forces and fight ISIS," said Biden, who said the US military mission in Iraq would end by the end of this year.
However, at the meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister, Biden did not mention the complete withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.
After the talks in the White House, the President of the United States and Iraqi Prime Minister announced in a joint statement that on December 31, 2021, there will be no more US forces with a combat role in Iraq.
During the meeting, US President Joe Biden claimed that his country is trying to train Iraqi forces, while a spokesman for the Iraqi al-Sadeghoun movement said that US military training and advice are two of Washington's big lies.
The Iraqi prime minister arrived in Washington for the second since holding office, while the Iraqi parliament's decision for the expulsion of US troops from the country has not yet been implemented.
Following the US assassinated Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis on Iraqi soil, the expulsion of US troops from Iraq has become one of the most important demands of large numbers of Iraqi people and groups and consequently, the Iraqi parliament also approved the bill to expel the US troops.
Many Iraqi figures and parliamentary factions have been long demanding the withdrawal of US troops from the country, specifically following a series of unclaimed airstrikes on PMF forces. 219
