Tehran (IP): Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences' President called Iranian researcher's works in vital pulp therapy (VPT) in dentistry a promising success in the world.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking at the special meeting on "Iranian scientists' great global success in vital pulp therapy (VPT) treatments in dentistry," Alireza Zali said that the Iranian invention of the material Calcium Enriched Mixture (CEM) used in VPT took 15 years, was a promising success in the world.

He said: "It has international standards, and more importantly, the American Dental Association has recommended it for all dentists by issuing a statement."

Emphasizing how rotten teeth could lead to diseases like coronary heart disease, digestion, and infections, Zali said that today, all dentists insist on keeping the tooth by VPT method instead of root canal treatment or extraction.

Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences' President noted that osteogenesis occurs in VPT treatment and, most importantly, it is compatible with the dental material.

The special meeting on "Iranian scientists' great global success in vital pulp therapy (VPT) treatment in dentistry" was held at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, with the attendance of Alireza Zali, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences President, and other scientists and dentistry specialists on July 26, 2021.
